태양에 관한글입니다. Do you know anything about the sun? Well, you know that the sun is hot, round, and red. But you may not know what the structure of the sun and its atmosphere are, what the sun is made out of, or what the sun does. If you didn’t, you’re going to learn more about the sun right now. The sun has 5 layers and its outer atmosphere. A center part of the sun is called the core. Its color is yellow, and its temperature is about 15 million degrees Celsius. The radiation zone is about 300,000 km. thick, and because the atoms in this zone are so closely packed that light takes millions of years to pass through this zone. The convection zone is about 200,000 km. thick and it’s where gases circulate in convection currents. The photosphere is what people know as the surface of the sun, and it’s about 600 km. thick. The chromosphere is about 3,000 km. thick, and it’s below the corona. The chromosphere is too difficult to see unless there is a total solar eclipse. The corona is the sun’s outer atmosphere, and the gases in the corona are so thin that it’s visible only during a total solar eclipse. All these layers and the atmosphere have their own characteristics. Many people don’t really know what made the sun. Well, People know that the sun is made out of gas, but to be more specific, it was made out of 2 elements. They are hydrogen and helium. In the beginning of the 20th century, Albert Einstein demonstrated that matter and energy can be converted to energy according to his famous _mula: E = mc squared. Where E is energy, m is mass, and c is the speed of light. Because the speed of light is so big, even a small matter can produce a large amount of energy. Nuclear fusion is the process by which 2 or more nuclei (a plural word _ nucleus) with small masses (such as hydrogen) join together to _m a bigger massive nucleus. (Such as helium) During the process, a lot of energy is made, and that’s how the sun was made. The sun can do a lot of amazing things and each of them has their own names. Giant storms on the surface of the sun are called solar flares. Solar flares’ temperatures can go up to 5 million degrees Celsius. Solar flares can interrupt radio communications on Earth. Many scientists are trying to find ways to predict solar activity (such as solar flares) and give warning of such events. Also, solar flares can cause a huge ripple to spread across the surface of the sun and that event is called a sunquake. Now that you learned several facts about the sun, you might think that the sun is interesting, or you might think that the sun is just a big, hot, red spinning ball. When I was studying the sun, it was pretty amazing. It was easy to study the sun because there were so many books that had in_mation about it. _ me, the sun was pretty interesting to learn about. ㅎㅎ 지루해서 올렸음. Go, 해외파!!!
